Activities at Broadway Halls Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Scott Bates
Hi I'm Scott, and I am privileged to be the Activities Co-ordinator at Broadway Halls.
Our Residents are special people with many wonderful stories to tell about their lives, and it is my job to understand their life history, their interests and theirs needs in order to deliver a person centred life enrichment programme.
I enjoy putting smiles on their faces as often as I can. I love to entertain and aim to ensure that every resident's interests and hobbies are supported. I have worked in care and in activities in previous roles, and I love my job!
Outside of work, I am busy being a Father, I try to play football and have a keen interest in metal detecting.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Broadway Halls Care Home

Celebrating Pride
Pride Month is a celebration of the LGBTQIA and community and the wonderful contributions they have made to society. We enjoyed chatting about Pride, raising awareness, celebrating diversity and promoting equality.

The Joy of Singing & Music
What a fantastic morning we had with lovely Becca Gee singer who took us from the 1940’s straight through to the 1970’s. Residents were singing, clapping and tapping their feet as we took ourselves back in time to enjoy some of their favourite songs

Exercise is Beneficial & Fun
Exercise not only changes your body it changes your attitude and your mood. Residents took part in a keeping fit for the elderly with movement to music class, there was much fun and laughter it made the exercise so enjoyable.

Pet Therapy
Our wonderful Maintenance man Shane brought his 2 dogs in as a Pet therapy activity, the residents were excited to stroke and handle the dogs. The dogs brought out so much joy and happiness to the home they are welcome anytime!

Deputy Mayor & Deputy Mayoress attend community event
Deputy Mayor Elect Councillor Pete Lee and Deputy Mayoress Elect Mrs Gloria Lee attended an event at Broadway Halls care home in Dudley this week. The event was an opportunity for all attendees to meet Danica Chugh the new General Manager at Barchester’s Broadway Halls home and to have the opportunity to network with each other.
There were a variety of organisations and groups who attended, many ideas were shared and future plans made for meetings and activities locally to support the local community. There was a range of people from financial advisors, Solicitors, Dudley Health and wellbeing team, therapeutic artists from ‘We are makers’, healthcare professionals and the Grand Theatre Charitable Trust.

Coronation Garden Party
What an amazing day at our coronation garden party. Want to say a big thank you to everyone that supported us. Thanks to Tesco in Dudley for donations of snacks and cakes for the party.
A massive thanks to the entertainment, the people who gave up there time just to entertain us. Paulo Pinto, Alex, Olivia(pianists) Susie, Staff, and resident's families. Also, to our neighbour who said "what a wonderful day I’ve had from my garden listening to all the music" and asked he could come and sing. The weather was perfect just like the day we had.
