Activities at Broadway Halls Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Scott Bates
Hi I'm Scott, and I am privileged to be the Activities Co-ordinator at Broadway Halls.
Our Residents are special people with many wonderful stories to tell about their lives, and it is my job to understand their life history, their interests and theirs needs in order to deliver a person centred life enrichment programme.
I enjoy putting smiles on their faces as often as I can. I love to entertain and aim to ensure that every resident's interests and hobbies are supported. I have worked in care and in activities in previous roles, and I love my job!
Outside of work, I am busy being a Father, I try to play football and have a keen interest in metal detecting.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Smiles at 90th Birthday Celebrations
We had the pleasure of celebrating one of our lovely residents 90th birthdays. Myra received gifts, flowers and a Birthday cake. We were entertained by the fabulous Paulo Pinto who sang some of her favourite songs, a fantastic time was had by everyone!

Bringing Back Memories
One of our lovely residents on Memory Lane used to play the church piano in Budleigh Salterton where she grew up. She loved the surprise! Huge thank you to Activities Assistant Julie’s children for the kind donation, our residents are very happy playing the keyboard.

Local School Children Visit
Bramford Primary Updates School visited this morning to entertain our residents with their wonderful singing voices. The residents had a fantastic time joining in with the songs. Afterwards the children chatted with us all, it was lovely to see the smiles on everybody’s faces.

A Magical Visit
We received a fabulous visit this morning from Alex and George from AGMagicians , it was a morning filled with magic, comedy and lots of participation and many giggles

D of E Students Donate Wonderful Gifts
A huge thank you to Sutton School, the pupils are completing their Duke of Edinburgh Awards, this involves helping someone in the community, we were lucky to be chosen by the children. They raised money by selling flowers/plants at the school, with the money pupils purchased a wishing well & watering can planter & flowers from a local garden centre.

Intergenerational Activities
What a fantastic time we had with the students from Dudley skills training. They have visited us for the last few months and we enjoyed celebrating their last day with us. The residents really enjoyed their visits, especially Mavis who taught one of the young ladies to play dominoes. We wish them all the best for the future.
