Activities at Broadway Halls Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Scott Bates
Hi I'm Scott, and I am privileged to be the Activities Co-ordinator at Broadway Halls.
Our Residents are special people with many wonderful stories to tell about their lives, and it is my job to understand their life history, their interests and theirs needs in order to deliver a person centred life enrichment programme.
I enjoy putting smiles on their faces as often as I can. I love to entertain and aim to ensure that every resident's interests and hobbies are supported. I have worked in care and in activities in previous roles, and I love my job!
Outside of work, I am busy being a Father, I try to play football and have a keen interest in metal detecting.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Church service with friends from America
Earlier this month Rev Sarah Carwardine from Top Church brought some special guests with her from America to join us for our holy communion service. We all joined in singing hymns & got to know each other it was a special service we hope they visit us again soon.
Sticky Fingers at Baking Club!
Baking Club is popular, the residents had great fun making jam & lemon tarts. A resident said I fully enjoyed making the pastry for the tarts getting my fingers dirty reminded me when I baked with my mom many years ago.
Mad Hatters Tea Party!
We had a fabulous Alice in wonderland style Mad Hatters tea party, staff & residents dressed for the occasion wearing a variety of hats & masks for the event. Everyone enjoyed delicious cakes & and refreshing hot drinks. The atmosphere was full of laughter & fun throughout.
Celebrating National Chocolate Cake Day
We recently celebrated National Chocolate Cake Day, what a better way than to sample the delicious chocolate cakes baked by our very own kitchen staff. There were chocolate muffins, brownies, chocolate fudge cake, double chocolate cookies & strawberries dipped in chocolate!
We All Need a Cuddle Now & Then
Julie, Activities Assistant knows all of the residents so well. She knows which residents like to have a chat, play games or just have a little cuddle, this can make all the difference to someone's well-being at any age.
Entertainment with Singing & Dancing
we would like to thank Paulo Pinto for the entertainment he recently performed for us. He was a hit with all the residents, there was non-stop singing and dancing!
