Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Hello, my name is Rikardus and I am the Activities Co-ordinator at Chestnut Gardens Care Home.
I have worked for Barchester for five years and was so excited to be part of such a excellent team at this beautiful home.
Every day I look forward to supporting our residents in living a full and enriched life and especially enjoy the outdoor activities that we arrange to the local attractions, even if the weather can be unpredictable at times.
We also hold loads of varied internal activities so everyone is catered for and the musicians and therapy animals are a very big hit.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

There was plenty of festive fun here at Chestnut Gardens when Santa paid a visit early Christmas Day morning to hand out the presents.

With her powerful voice and captivating presence, she delivered an unforgettable performance for our residents.
From her chart-topping hits to her emotional ballads, Emeli Sandés music was absolutey amazing.
Hampton Court Palace
Going to Hampton Court Palace was simply an amazing experience. Thank you to the organisers of this dementia based event where the usual busy Palace was closed to the public. Residents had the chance to go at their own pace and take in all the wonderful features inside and outside that Hampton Court Palace has to offer. The wonderfully generous staff had plenty of chances to teach us about the history of the place.
Exercise Classes
We have a full and varied range of exercise classes here at the home, these can be one to one or group activities. We can cater for all abilities and these classes bring so much joy and enrichment to our residents.

April Community Café will be held outside in April , depending on weather. Please come and join the afternoons entertainment and refreshments. Everyone invited.
