Activities at Claremont Parkway Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Celebrating life at Claremont Parkway Care Home
Happy Birthday Marvelous 'Mari'
Today Mari celebrated her birthday along with family and friends with a rendition of Happy Birthday and a delicious cake made by the talented head chef Jorge.
Mari was joined by her Son who had travelled over from the Isle of Man, who of course Mari was really pleased to see and her Son-in-law. In the morning Mari had her daughter also visit with the pet dog.
Mari enjoyed tucking in to the cake along with her son who both agreed it was delicious!
Celebrating birthdays reminds individuals that they are seen, valued and part of a community and helps strengthen relationships, lifts spirits and increases happiness.

Employee of the Month
We are proud to recognise Idara who was our employee of the Month for September, as a carer he always brings unwavering cheerfulness and genuine passion to his role.
His positive spirit lifts both colleagues and residents, creating an encouraging and supportive environment for everyone around him.
Idara was presented with a gift of thanks by General Manager Jo. We'd all like to say well done to Idara, and thank you for your commitment and for making such a meaningful difference.
Contribution to Continue for Local Food Bank Donations
Our contribution to the local Food Bank was collected today by Matthew and new friendships were formed.
We have made a steadfast commitment to supporting the Kettering food bank by generously collecting and providing an abundance of non-perishable food items.
Matthew from the Local Food Bank will be providing a food bank basket for the home premises. This will allows staff, residents, and their families to contribute to the collection of essential food resources for those in the community who are in need.
General Manager Joanna Mosses and Home Services advisor Louise Ramage chatted to Matthew who expressed the crucial need for this contribution and the significant impact it has on the entire community. He highlighted the challenges faced by families who have to choose between putting food on the table or heating their homes, especially during the half-term breaks when children miss their school meals.
Claremont Parkway is reaching out to the local community, inviting everyone to contribute directly to the food bank basket at the care home reception. Your support will make a meaningful difference to those in need.

Blooming Lovely Gift
Feeling the Fresh Garden Air
Yesterday our residents were eager to head outdoors to enjoy the fresh autumn air. Wrapped up warm the slight breeze brought a refreshing energy, and the vibrant colours of the changing leaves made the walk especially beautiful.
Getting outside, even briefly, offers so many benefits - fresh air to lift the spirit, gentle movement to support well-being, and the simple joy of experiencing the season's beauty together.
It was a wonderful reminder that every kind of weather has its own charm, especially when shared in good company.
A stroll today would have been completely different as it started with a snow flurry.
My Accordion and I: Better Late Than Never
After a lifetime, the accordion still sings, and for our resident David, its melody brought back cherished memories from his youth. It had been seventy years since he last played the instrument he once loved, but a special surprise changed that. The homes Activity Coordinator's son visited with his father's accordion, giving David the opportunity to reconnect with his passion.
As he ran his fingers over the keys, David's heart filled with joy, but he also felt a tinge of sadness, realising that time had taken its toll on his dexterity. Nonetheless, the music brought back a flood of memories, especially his favourite tune, "In the Mood," which he used to play with gusto as a young boy.
The moment became even more precious when Michael, the Activity Coordinator's son, called his dad to come and join in. The room filled with the nostalgic sound of the accordion, weaving together music, memories, and smiles.
Colourful Autumnal Fun Day for Residents
Residents and staff recently came together to celebrate the arrival of autumn with an Autumn Day event. The day was filled with creative activities, heartfelt conversations, and a touch of friendly competition.
The residents kicked off the festivities by unleashing their artistic talents, using various mediums to craft stunning autumn-themed pictures, picture frames, and wreaths. These beautiful creations will now adorn the residents' rooms, serving as a reminder of the joyous occasion. Family members also joined in on the fun by participating in a raffle, with a generous hamper brimming with delectable treats as the coveted prize. The excitement peaked when a lucky resident's family member emerged as the winner, expressing gratitude for the delightful surprise.
As the day unfolded, residents, staff, and their families engaged in conversations about the unique allure of the autumn season. One resident eloquently shared their love for cosying up by a warm fire and marvelling at the rich tapestry of autumnal hues adorning the landscape.
The atmosphere was further enlivened with an Autumn quiz and word scramble, sparking friendly competition and putting everyone's knowledge to the test. General Manager, Joanna Mosses, expressed delight at seeing the community come together to partake in the day's activities, emphasising the importance of nurturing residents' lifelong passions and fostering new experiences within the home.
The Autumn Day event at the home was a testament to the warmth and camaraderie that defines the community, leaving everyone looking forward to more cherished moments in the seasons to come.
Residents united in supporting of the Local Food Bank
We are so proud to announce that we are collecting for the local food bank. Staff, residents, and their families have been wholeheartedly gathering non-perishable food items to support those in need in the Kettering community. We are now reaching out to the wider community for assistance in making a substantial donation to the local food bank.
General Manager, Joanna Mosses, is leading this initiative and is calling on the local community to join in the effort. "We recognise the challenges that many families in our area face, especially when it comes to providing a healthy and affordable diet for their loved ones," stated Joanna Mosses. "As winter approaches, the cost of living becomes even more burdensome, and we want to offer our support to those who may need to rely on the local food bank."
We are appealing to the generosity of the community by inviting them to contribute to this meaningful cause. Whether it's a small tin of beans or a large bag of rice, every donation is valuable and will make a difference in someone's life. If you have extra food items to spare or would like to make a purchase specifically for this collection, please consider dropping it off at our reception. Your support will be greatly appreciated.
Let's come together as a community to ensure that no family goes without a meal. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a meaningful impact. Thank you for your generosity and support.
