Activities at Glenroyd Care Home
Here at the Glenroyd our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. Everyone is different and gets pleasure from different things and here at Glenroyd we understand that and therefore try to provide a programme of activity that is tailored to individuals needs. We do this by gathering information and life history work and using that information to feed into our activities schedule. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.
Agata Prendota
Hi, my name is Agata Prendota and I am the activities coordinator here at Glenroyd. I have worked at Glenroyd since 2014 and in April 2022 transferred to activities. I developed a strong relationship with many of our residents and their families. This has helped me to create a tailored activities program focused on maximizing everyone’s wellbeing, independence, and social engagement.
It is my goal to create a stimulating environment that enables to provide imaginative, fun, and motivational activities that suit every interest and ability. My infectious enthusiasm and creative approach are the key to inspire our residents and staff to get involved in activities both within the home and in the local community.
I am passionate about my role and especially the challenge of coming up with new ways to engage as many residents as possible in daily activities.

Sports Day
What a fantastic day of sports and camaraderie we had at Glenroyd!
Our residents, along with their families and friends, came together for our annual sports day extravaganza! Team Aga and Team Brandon gave it their all in a series of exciting and fun-filled competitions including the egg and spoon race, three-legged race, bean bag race, tug of war, and sack race. After a day of fierce but friendly competition, Team Aga emerged victorious with a score of 27 to 12. A big shout out to Carol, our wonderful referee, and to all our residents for their enthusiastic support and cheers for the teams!
Thank you to everyone who participated and made this day so special. Here is to more fun, laughter, and sportsmanship at Glenroyd!
A day in America
It was a day full of American spirit and excitement as our residents embarked on a virtual journey to the land of the free!
From learning new facts with Oomph activity books to exploring the most wonderful places to visit in America, our residents had a blast immersing themselves in all things American.
The day was filled with a themed quiz that challenged our residents' knowledge about the USA, accompanied by delicious American-themed refreshments that added to the fun atmosphere.
We also took a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about past holidays in the USA and sharing stories about the places our residents have visited.
And what's a celebration without some rock and roll music? We wrapped up the day with some dancing that got everyone grooving and smiling.
It was a fantastic day filled with laughter, learning, and joy. Our residents are now eagerly looking forward to exploring other cultures throughout the year.
World Chocolate Day
The residents at Glenroyd celebrated World Chocolate Day in true style! We embarked on a journey into the magical world of Willy Wonka, where imagination knows no bounds and chocolate indulgence reigns supreme.
From our favourite chocolate bars to an array of delectable chocolates and sweet treats, the day was a chocolate lover's dream come true! And let's not forget the pièce de résistance - a magnificent chocolate cake crafted by our very own master chef, Ella!
Under the warm sun in our garden, serenaded by soothing jazz music, our residents immersed themselves in a world of chocolate delights. Laughter filled the air as we guessed chocolate bars and enjoyed a fun quiz, all thanks to Oomph on Demand.
UEFA Euro 2024
Residents and staff were filled with excitement as we rallied behind England in hopes of bringing it home at the Euros! While the results didn't go as we had predicted, the journey was filled with memorable moments and camaraderie.
Throughout the month, residents enjoyed a variety of football-themed activities and fondly reminisced about past Euros. Together, we decorated the home, shared stories of classic matches, and celebrated the spirit of sportsmanship.
Although the outcome wasn't what we had hoped for, the experience brought us closer together and reminded us of the joy that comes from uniting over the beautiful game.
Carers Week

Their dedication and compassion in providing outstanding care to our residents every single day truly make a difference. Our care team consistently goes above and beyond their roles, and for this, we are deeply grateful.
