Activities at Hyacinth House Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Anna Wasiak

Activities Coordinator

I am a friendly and enthusiastic Activity Coordinator with a passion for working with people and making a positive impact in their lives. I joined Hyacinth House in 2024 as a carer and excited to now be the Activities Coordinator. I have eight years experience in hospitality and three years in floristry. I bring creativity, strong interpersonal skills and a warm welcoming approach to my role. My background has given me the ability to connect with individuals, organise engaging activities, and create meaningful experiences that brighten people’s days. I love inspiring others, fostering a sense of community and bringing joy through thoughtful and inclusive activities.

Celebration of Friendship and Love

Love was in the air today as Ol' Blue Eyes was back! We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Scott Free - Swingin' Sinatra with a twist! Our wonderful residents enjoyed a glass of bubbly while being serenaded. Everyone sang along, danced and tapped their toes to the music, it was pure joy! Moments like these remind us how special friendship and love truly are. What a fabulous day celebrating each other - The Hyacinth Family!

Hearts for Valentines

At our latest craft session, we painted and decorated hearts - each one a tribute to the special people in our lives. Some hearts were made for those we hold dear today, while others were created in memory of loved ones who may no longer be with us but remain forever in our thoughts.

A Creative Day at Hyacinth House!

We had an absolutely fantastic day getting creative at Hyacinth House this week, all thanks to the amazing Sonja from Uptown Junk and her coasters workshop!

The brilliant team from Action for Children (based in Ferndown) kicked off the morning with a fun and creative team-building session. Then, in the evening, members of the community joined in to make their own unique coasters proving just how simple yet effective the process can be with Sonja's instruction!

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and to Sonja for leading such an engaging and enjoyable workshop. We loved seeing all the creativity in action!

If you are interested to take part in a workshop visit https://uptownjunk.uk/

A Very Busy Afternoon for Adorable Archie!

This sweet and gentle pup spent time visiting our residents in their rooms and lounges, spreading love and lifting spirits wherever he went. His attentive nature and calming presence brought smiles to everyone's faces. After all his hard work, he enjoyed a well deserved snooze at home - and we can't blame him!

Thank you Archie and special belated birthday wishes to your human, Paula Dawe, who recently celebrated a milestone birthday!
