Activities at Middletown Grange Care Home

We aim to provide a variety of activities that will both mentally and physically stimulate the people we support. Residents have a range of different needs and interests, and it is crucial that these are reflected in the activities available, so that each individual is able to participate to the best of their ability. We organise both group and individual social events that everyone is welcome to take part in; there is a weekly outing to local places of interest, including the garden centre and the local farms, parks and museums. In addition, we enjoy regular visits from entertainers and even exotic animals. We also host events such as 'Beach Day' that relatives and friends are encouraged to participate in. Getting involved in charities is a big part of our ethos, so events such as 'PJs for Pudsey' and pirate-themed days are regularly hosted to raise money for different foundations, including the Alzheimer’s Society.

Keeping our wildlife well fed!

We had a very productive weekend this weekend, ensuring all our bird feeders are filled and ready for our little visitors but also spending some time playing games and completing jigsaw's.Its so important to keep our minds and body's busy which is why we like to bring a healthy balance in our life enrichment that enhances the use of our hands, but also gives us time to stop, think and test our knowledge and skills!

Sunday Church & Yoga

Sunday Morning ServiceEvery week we walk round to the St John The Evangelist Church next to our beautiful home in Hailey, and take our residents to the Sunday Service. Whilst we have our very own service monthly in the home, its lovely to be able to attend and support the local community. Its important to ensure that the people we look after continue to be supported with interests, beliefs and keeping up traditions from home. We also had Amanda pop by for our weekly Yoga session which is always a lovely way to finish the week!

World Textile Fair

What a fantastic weekend we had!!!!A huge thank you to Chipping Norton Town Council for allowing us the opportunity to support the World Textile Fair on Saturday at the Town Hall. We had a great day meeting everyone from the community and serving up some of our homemade fresh cakes and cupcakes during the event. It was amazing to see the room filled with so many bright colours and some incredible ideas and designs. We cant wait to be back again soon!

Pet Therapy Dog Florence!

We are very lucky to have Florence, the pet therapy dog stop by on a weekly basis to come and see us at Middletown Grange. Animal stimulation is so important within our life enrichment programme in our home, and Florence pays a huge part in this, spending time with us, allowing us to give her treats is so enjoyable and relaxing for us.

Keeping fit and healthy!

Every week we are joined by Alfie who supports the team and residents here at Middletown Grange with exercise classes. These can vary from seated exercise, using specific parts of our body and most importantly keep our brains active and busy. We love having these classes, more and more residents attend every week and everyone loves being involved!

It also means we feel less guilty about the tea and cake we have every day!

St Johns Church Visit

On Sunday we went for morning service at St Johns Church in Hailey. We are so lucky to have this beautiful historic landscape next door to us, with most of our rooms overlooking the church and the grounds.

Whilst we provide a monthly church service in our home, its always important to ensure our residents are offered the opportunity to attend services each week and its always nice to bump into the local community of Hailey!
