Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Moors Manor Care Home
Sunflower planting
We have been growing our sunflowers from seeds to these rather large plants in our gardening group. We have now transferred these plants into the garden to see how tall they really get.
Marjorie even helped to give them a good water once they were planted into the ground. Gardening is so therapeutic and our residents enjoy it too.
Cooking up a storm
This weeks baking club had residents making cupcakes. You can see in the photos there was lot's of fun and concentrating to make sure the mixture was mixed well to produce good cupcakes for everyone to enjoy.
Love to Move class with Katie
What a great way to start the morning by joining Katie for her Love to Move class which she does here every Monday morning.
Residents enjoyed some gentle exercise which is good for everyone to keep active but also were singing along to the songs as well. A fun morning had by all and we look forward to Katie's next class.
Walter and the male voice choir
It is always lovely when you have residents that come to the home that talk about their hobbies and interests that they still do now.
We recently had Walter stay with us for respite and when talking with the team he mentioned he was a member of a male choir. Last week Walter and the choir came into the home and sang a selection of songs which were amazing and enjoyed by everyone.
We look forward to Walter and the choir coming again into the home.
Yoga with Bibesh
Exercise really is so very important and here at Moors Manor we have a variety of different exercise classes for residents to enjoy. Here residents are enjoying some yoga which are very own Activities Coordinator Bibesh was running. Residents at the end felt very relaxed and ready for the day ahead.
Creating Mandala artwork
Art can be very relaxing and therapeutic, we have our very own art group here at Moors Manor. Residents all enjoyed creating their very own Mandala art work. The colour and detail that went into each piece was wonderful and residents were all talking about the different types of artwork that they used to do.
