Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Arts and crafts on memory lane
Residents on our memory lane enjoyed an afternoon of arts and crafts were they got to create handmade cards, paintings to give to their loved ones. Everyone really enjoyed getting creative and getting ideas from one another. We had the music playing too so there was lots of singing and laughter too. A fun afternoon for all to enjoy.

Steve Linn entertains
We had the wonderful Steve Linn come to the home to entertain our residents with a selection of songs which had everyone singing, tapping their toes, swaying their arms and even some of our ladies up and dancing. Steve also wore his glitzy shoes which one of our ladies really took a shine too.
We all had a wonderful afternoon and look forward to Steve coming back to the home perform.

All Saints Church Service
We had Rev Ruth from All Saints Church in St Leonard's come to the home to hold a church service for our residents to attend. Residents thoroughly enjoyed the service and were happy that they can still continue to follow their religious beliefs and be able to have holy communion in the home. We look forward to All Saints Church coming back soon.

Minibus trip to Haskins Garden Centre
This week's minibus outing had residents go to our local garden centre Haskins. Residents did a bit of shopping to choose some new plants for our garden and also bought some gluten free Easter Eggs for a couple of our residents.
Here at Moors Manor we can cater for all our residents dietary requirements and ensure everyone gets to enjoy the delicious food we serve in the home.
We finished off the trip with a stop at the coffee shop for tea and cake.

BOURNE2SING perform
We had the fantastic BOURNE2SING Male Vocal Choir come back to the home again to entertain our residents as everyone thoroughly enjoyed their performance last time. The group sang a variety of songs from classical to pop to show tunes which had everyone singing along and some pieces moving us to tears in a nice way.
Everyone had a wonderful afternoon and we look forward to BOURNE2SING coming back again.

Easter decorations and card making
Residents have been busy making decorations and cards for loved ones for Easter. Everyone got rather creative and enjoyed making something a little different and also fun for the home.
