Activities at Newton House Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Valentine's Day

Residents enjoyed a special Valentines musical show with the amazing Nicky Reader & Neil from Clearer Productions.

The love was all around Newton House and what a beautiful day it has been too!

Sharing the love, laughter & celebrating together is what we love the best

The Arctic Airship Italia

Across our services we had a lovely time joining Mark Piesing for an exciting virtual event to discuss his book ‘N-4 Down: The Hunt for The Arctic Airship Italia’.

Our residents were thrilled to find out more about the book and the fascinating story of the world-famous exploring airship Italia, returning from the North Pole on May 24, 1928. The airship was struck by a terrible storm and crashed somewhere over the Arctic ice, triggering the largest polar rescue mission in history.

The virtual book club experience was truly enjoyed by all.

An evening at the races

Here at Newton House, we always take the time to get to know our residents through one-to-one sessions and residents meetings. We take pleasure in actively responding to our residents requests. The gents in our home had requested a fun evening of racing, and we were delighted to deliver.

It was so much fun hosting our very own race night, residents were delighted to participate, and everyone involved had such a great evening! We can't wait to hear what our residents want to do next.

National Pizza Day

Celebrating national pizza day at Newton House with our favourite little friends from sweet angels nursery. The children and residents thoroughly enjoyed working together to create some delicious pizzas.

It was wonderful to see them all interact, and a fun atmosphere they created together. A great way of placing residents in the expert role to provide a feeling of empowerment and wellbeing.

Parachute Exercise

What a fun way to promote team work and physical wellbeing. Parachute exercise is so much fun and most definitely gets our muscles working.

This is such a fun way of promoting good team work, whilst working on body confidence and improving balance, posture and coordination, plus the residents absolutely love this activity!

Bus trip to Little Jack's Farm

Residents enjoyed an incredible bus trip out to Little Jacks Farm and Garden Centre. We were all in our element amongst the beautiful animals and fresh country air!

Joan said: “what a brilliant morning with my friends”. We all agreed that it was such a special trip out and we are so lucky to have such a wonderful place on our doorstep!
Josie really enjoyed reminiscing about how she lived amongst farms growing up, and was delighted to see the horses - her favourite animals.
We finished off with delicious cake and coffee in their lovely cafe area.
