Activities at Newton House Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!
Newton House Activities Team
Amanda, Sabrina, Karen and Jill make up our fantastic Activities Team here at Newton House. They develop and oversee an active living programme for each resident, which encourages mobility, social contact, independence and fun. Each and every person can thrive and live to their full potential with no day ever being the same. They bring great enthusiasm and spark to Newton House and have one passion, which is to deliver an amazing and vibrant activities programme to cater to all tastes and abilities.

Life at Newton House Care Home
Intergenerational visit brings laughs!
What a fabulous and fun morning with our best little friends from Sweet Angels Childcare Service. With arts & crafts to prepare us for our visit to St Wulframs tree festival. Some wonderful decorations were made, followed by the children singing their favourite songs. It was amazing to see the residents singing along. Joyce said “oh just look at them, don’t they make you feel young again”
Live entertainment with Dave Cox
Residents were soon up on their feet today, moving and grooving to a fabulous performance from the amazing Dave Cox from Care Home Entertainment.
With lots of singing and dancing along to their all time favourite songs, we all had so much fun together!
It was a very lively performance, which residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed, I think we most definitely got our steps in today. There were way too many photos to choose from today, so we decided to add them all . We love being able to share with you so many happy faces.
Grantham Cubs visit
A very special visit last night from the Grantham 7th Cubs, for an evening of arts & crafts. Residents were thrilled to see them and create some amazing art work in preparation for the Christmas tree festival at St Wulframs Church. We cannot wait to welcome them back, for their Christmas Choir.
It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
Our Christmas tree made with love, is now on display at St Wulframs Church, as part of the Christmas tree festival 2022 . Our beautiful decorations were created by our amazing residents, Sweet Angels Childcare Service and the Grantham 7th cub scouts.
The festival at St Wulframs, opens from Thursday 24th November until Sunday 27th, and is a beautiful outing for all. We have also been getting Newton house, Festively festive, with the beginning of decorating throughout the home
International Chef's Day
We had lots of fun making our very own yummy pizzas in honour of international chef's day. Residents Harry and Mike both had incredible careers as chefs, with Harry running his own Michelin star restaurant, and Mike who has worked in many places cooking and even taught Marcus Wareing for a time!
We then finished off the day with an afternoon of bingo which residents thoroughly enjoyed.
International Gin & Tonic Day
Today we enjoyed a fun afternoon of gin tasting in celebration of international gin and tonic day. Residents were excited to get together and try various flavours of gins and creating different combinations… the crowd favourite seemed to be the rhubarb and custard flavour.
Mrs W told us that this would be her first time drinking gin in 75 years as she hadn’t drunk it since she was 18! Gordon was very happy to be holding a bottle of Gordon’s
