Activities at Newton House Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

New Year Wishes

Residents have started the new year with fun, love and togetherness. We asked our residents how they would like to spend this lovely new year, and we loved their replies.

Resident Vonnie said ‘full of fun & laughter, then I will be happy’.

Donkey Sanctuary

Across our services, Residents enjoyed a fantastic virtual tour of the Donkey Sanctuary Manchester.  Residents were thrilled to meet the lovely herd of donkeys, including Henry and his best friend Tiny Tim and to learn more about their every day care.  They were introduced to the sanctuary’s work and the impact they make to the lives of donkeys in need worldwide.  The virtual experience was truly enjoyed by all.

A Visit from Santa

Residents were thrilled with a special, evening visit from Santa on his sleigh and his magical elves from Grantham Lions Club. Santa arrived on his magical sleigh, we could hear his Christmas music first and when he arrived into the carpark, residents were overwhelmed joy!

Intergenerational visit brings laughs!

What a fabulous and fun morning with our best little friends from Sweet Angels Childcare Service. With arts & crafts to prepare us for our visit to St Wulframs tree festival. Some wonderful decorations were made, followed by the children singing their favourite songs. It was amazing to see the residents singing along.  Joyce said “oh just look at them, don’t they make you feel young again”

Live entertainment with Dave Cox

Residents were soon up on their feet today, moving and grooving to a fabulous performance from the amazing Dave Cox from Care Home Entertainment.

With lots of singing and dancing along to their all time favourite songs, we all had so much fun together!

It was a very lively performance, which residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed, I think we most definitely got our steps in today. There were way too many photos to choose from today, so we decided to add them all . We love being able to share with you so many happy faces.
