We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Life at Silverbirch House Care Home
Arts, Crafts and Glowing Jars
Our residents had a life-enriching afternoon making glowing jars with Tracy from Craft N Beats. As the golden autumn sun poured through the windows residents, staff, and our lovely guest Tracy gathered together for a cosy and creative craft session in the activity room.
The finished glowing jars weren’t just about crafting—they were about celebrating the colour of the season, the community, and the joy of creating something meaningful together. These little moments matter so much all in the name of life enrichment at Silverbirch House.

Strictly comes to Silverbirch
Today, we welcomed Simon from Best Foot Forward Dance to Silverbirch House for a fun Ballroom dance session. It was like an episode of 'Strictly' as Residents Denise, Marion, Gillian, Norma, and Rosemary put Simon through his paces. Thank you, Simon, for bringing such energy and joy to our community through dance.

Our residents love their pampering sessions, where they can enjoy a little pampering.
Whether it’s a trendy new look with a haircut or a relaxing manicure, our salon offers a space for residents to unwind and feel fabulous. It’s all about enhancing their well-being and adding a touch of fun to a day.
Life Enrichment at Silverbirch House: Exercise Edition!
Today, our residents proved that you don’t need to be on your feet to get moving! Residents gathered for a seated exercise class from stretching arms to stretching smiles, our Life Enrichment program is all about keeping spirits high and bodies moving!
Spooktacular gathering at SBH
Halloween is in the air at Silverbirch House!
Residents have been busy getting into the spooky spirit—carving each pumpkin uniquely and putting together goodie bags for our local kids' arrival on our Halloween trail, which promises to be a fun evening! We can't wait to welcome our local community. So, if you are local, follow the pumpkins to our door from 4 pm to 6 pm.
