Activities at Silverbirch House Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Bo Tse
With previous experience working in a care home as an activities coordinator, I have developed a strong passion for enhancing the daily lives of residents through engaging and meaningful activities.
I am thrilled to join Barchester because of its outstanding reputation for providing exceptional care and a warm, community-focused environment. In my role, I will be dedicated to creating enriching programs that promote social interaction and well-being, helping both residents and their families feel supported and connected.

A Festive Treat at Silverbirch House!
We love it when the amazing Becky, singer and entertainer extraordinaire, visits us here at Silverbirch House! Her performance of Christmas favourites had everyone singing along, and her infectious enthusiasm brought smiles to every face. Becky’s talent and energy light up the room, encouraging movement and connection. With lots of interaction and festive cheer, her visit was a fantastic reminder of how important life enrichment is to our residents’ well-being. Thank you, Becky, for making the season extra special!

Happy 1st Birthday, Silverbirch House!
We celebrated a special milestone while being surrounded by our amazing community! We were thrilled to welcome friends and neighbours from the local area, former residents, current residents and their families, and some special guests. A huge thank you to The Deputy Mayor, Howard Smith, who had the honour of cutting our beautiful birthday cake, and to Dr Hillard and Mrs Tizard, whose names inspire two of our communities. Guests were treated to canapés prepared by our talented Head Chef, Sange, while the smooth saxophone melodies and vintage harmonies of the DDay Dollies brought the celebration to life. Here’s to all the incredible people who make Silverbirch House so special. Here’s to many more amazing years ahead!

DOUBLE CELEBRATION at Silverbirch House yesterday!
Our fabulous resident Nick celebrated his birthday in style with his community of friends and a birthday cake baked and decorated by our Chef Daniel. We kept the festive cheer rolling with a Barchester Live Event - A Christmas sing-a-long that had everyone smiling, clapping, and tapping their toes! The harmony of our residents echoed through the hallways of Silverbirch House with numbers such as “Winter Wonderland” and “Let It Snow,” and a whole lot of Christmas spirit. With mince pies, good company, and plenty of festive cheer, it was a day to remember!

Festive Spirit at Silverbirch House!
We were delighted to welcome medical students from the University of Guildford for an early Christmas celebration! They brought hampers filled with goodies for our residents, made possible by generous donations from students and staff. Our residents were surprised and delighted with their gifts, with smiles on faces all round! This act of generosity and giving also helped the students appreciate the importance of building community connections alongside their academic journey. The students, from the Medical Sciences Department, are currently exploring various disciplines before choosing their specialisations. We’re so grateful for their kindness and the festive cheer they brought to Silverbirch House

The Silverbirch House Christmas Tree Lighting!
