Activities at Silverbirch House Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Silverbirch House Care Home

Quiche and a Pre VE Day Concert
A vibrant day at Silverbirch House! Our residents whipped up delicious Quiche and snacks and crafting decorations ahead of a special pre-VE Day concert by the talented group, @Lestweforget. Residents came together and reminisced celebrating with classic tunes from the World War 2 era. A huge thank you to @Lestwegorget for their performance and our residents for their energy and enthusiasm.

Residents visit 355 International Auto Restorations
355 International Auto Restorations, where classic cars come back to life in the most spectacular way. From Ferraris to Aston Martins and beyond, every vehicle told a story of craftsmanship and engineering excellence.
Residents met with Andy Coxhead and the team behind 355 who shared their time and dedication to preserving automotive history. We spent the day immersed in conversations about these iconic cars, residents were even treated to a visit to Andy’s man cave.
Thank you, 355 International Auto Restorations, for welcoming us and sharing your passion with us.

Plant and Potter - Herbs and Veggies
Today, we got our hands dirty at Silverbirch House's monthly 'Plant and Potter' gathering! Our residents dug deep and planted herbs and vegetables, ensuring our kitchen can cook with the freshest ingredients. Join us for this community event on the 1st Wednesday of each month! Don't worry, we'll remind you closer to the date of the next one.

May Day Flower Arranging
The sun greeted us on the 1st day of May, inspiring our residents at Silverbirch House to get creative with flower arranging! Led by Netty, creating beautiful table decorations which now adorn our bistro.

Residents Swoop into Birdworld!
Finally, the sun decided to grace us with its presence today, and our minibus wasted no time in whisking residents away to Birdworld! Maureen, Marion, and Paddy, joined by our activities coordinators Jo and Luba were in for a treat as they mingled with a plethora of feathered friends, from charming penguins to chatty parrots.
Obviously the sun will stay out now for a while and we look forward to many more adventures together out and about!

Fun and games at Silverbirch House
Silverbirch House's activities coordinator organise 3 scheduled activities a day/ every day! The gaming spirit is alive and thriving! Whether it's a round of carpet bowls or diving into board games, the focus is intense and the competition is healthy. June, a newcomer to Silverbirch and in fact bowls, surprised us all by clinching top spot in the carpet bowls tourney, proving it's never the wrong time to learn new tricks!
