Activities at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Donna Jones
Donna joined the Tennyson Wharf Family in April 2023.
As an Activities Coordinator, Donna helps to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active to keep residents engage. The team take time to ensure they all know each residents' interests so that the team can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities.
Donna has a passion for helping others and is settling into her new role great!

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
Magic Table Arrives
At Tennyson Wharf, we have introduced a Magic Table offering opportunities for those living with dementia to increase physical and social interactions and, most of all, have fun. The Magic Table is an interactive light projector designed to support residents living with dementia and is proven to help staff promote stimulation through specialised games. The colourful light projections respond to hand and arm movements, enabling residents to play with the light itself, increasing both movement and stimulation.
Table Tennis
Residents at Tennyson enjoy playing table tennis which also helps them keep fit and active. It was a closely fought encounter.
Visit to Museum
Residents from our memory lane community were taken on a visit to the Collection Museum in Lincoln. We chatted about the various artefacts on show and one resident, tried on a roman helmet. A lovely day out for all.
Pamper Evening
We held our weekly pamper evening on Monday. The residents listened to some relaxing music whilst enjoying a treatment of their choice. These included a leg massage, facials using face masks and hand massages. Everyone enjoyed their treatments and felt very relaxed at the end.
Elvis's Birthday
Our residents were treated to an afternoon of golden oldies to help celebrate Elvis's birthday. They great man would have been proud to see the smiles on everyone's faces.
Cabra Singers Choir
Our residents at Tennyson were entertained by Lincoln's Cabra Singers who performed a wonderful choir which consisted of lovely Christmas carols and hymns.
