Activities at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Rebecca Harrowing
Hi my name is Rebecca, I started working at Tennyson Wharf in July 2024.
Previous to starting at Tennyson Wharf I have lived in many countries and worked as a supply teacher and administrator in Bahrain in the Middle East - I have also worked in scouting programme groups in both the USA and UK.
Whilst I have worked with children for a lot of my life, working with the elderly is always been something I have been passionate about. I believe that everybody has a story to tell and our residents life stories all add value to Tennyson Wharf.
Outside of work I enjoy walking, gardening and going to the cinema.

Life at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
Dog Show
Tennyson put on a dog show for our residents. Each dog won a rosette and bone. It was a fund day for our 3 judges too.
Parkinson's Information Talk
Graham Line from the Parkinson's Association kindly visited Tennyson Wharf to provide local nurses with an informative talk and Q&A session regarding Parkinson's disease.
Armchair Yoga
Residents and local guests enjoyed an afternoon armchair yoga class, which was hosted by Sally from David Lloyds health club. Everyone felt revitalized after the session. We look forward to the next session.
Cubs visit Tennyson
Tennyson welcomed the local Cubs group who decorated our resident's wheelchairs and Zimmer frames which helped the cubs work towards their community action badge. A lovey day, which ended with everyone playing on our magic table.
Bingo with Burton Hathow School
Children from Burton Hathow school visited residents and played clock bingo with them. They also sang happy birthday to our Kathleen followed by hugs.
Age On the Stage Final
Our residents did Tennyson Wharf proud by making it to the finals of the Age on the Stage intergenerational talent contest. A big thank you to Burton Hathow school, whose children sang with our residents to make this happen. We will be back next year to hopefully win the title.
