Activities at The Warren Care Home
Here at The Warren, our activities team are always very busy thinking of new ways to keep residents active, both physically and mentally. We have regular trips out in the minibus, both locally and further a field, including the London Eye and the Thames River Trip), at least once a week during the summer months. We also enjoy visits from PAT dogs and have professional exercise sessions and live entertainment, which are always popular.
Kirstie Bush
My name is Kirstie and I am lucky enough to be the Activities Coordinator here at The Warren.
I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities and leisure and lifestyle roles.
I love being part of The Warren team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the importance of residents' input into our weekly planner is important giving all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous interests and hobbies.

Life at The Warren Care Home
“Best Day Out Ever” Says Ray
We started the Day at Wroxham with Lunch by the River, what a wonderful start. The Sun was shining and the weather was just perfect. After our lunch we travelled down to Horning, found the perfect spot to park and ice creams for dessert, they were melting quicker that we could eat them. 3pm, time to board the Mississippi River Boat and set sail on the Norfolk Broads. Cold drinks all round, interesting commentary about our surrounding’s and great company. Home afterwards and we will sleep well tonight.
Hawaiian Garden Party
What a day we had, Hawaiian Garden party was a huge success ad thank you to all that attended. Pina Coladas and Lei’s on arrival, Tinkerbell the Tiny Pony arrived for cuddles, followed by a delicious BBQ, Watermelon Eating Competition and all finished off with a Dance and sing a long with Nick Stephenson. What a fantastic time was had by all.
Summer Ice Cream Sundaes
Today it was 28c and we made Ice Cream Sundaes!!!! Barchester held a competition to win a Ice Cream van to our home se the gauntlet had been laid down and we do love a challenge too. We made the “Lucious Lavender” and the “Sensational Strawberry” The lavender was inspired by our world famous lavender field in Heecham and we had to tip out hat to this most tasty English Summer fruit the Strawberry. We hope you agree that these look absolutely stunning and good enough to eat.
Foot spas all round
Who doesn’t like a little bit of pampering. Today we gave our residents a wonderful foot spa each. With relaxing oils and the warm beautifully smelling water, this was the perfect relaxation and the ladies loved it.
Global Beatles Day
We had a huge amount of fun creating this. For Global Beatles day we recreated the infamous Abbey Road cover and made our very own “Wroxham Road”. Personally I think our very own John, George, Paul and Ringo did it better but I might be biased.
Pie and Pint Day
The gentlemen expressed their wish to go out for a pie and a pint, so that's exactly what we did! We all piled into the minibus and headed to Acle Bridge, where we enjoyed a delicious lunch followed by a pint or two of local ale. After lunch, we fed the ducks and were delighted to see a family of swans proudly showing off their adorable babies. What a wonderful day it was.
