Activities at The Wingfield Care Home
Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

Life at The Wingfield Care Home
Valentines Day
We celebrated Valentine’s day. In the morning, the team played some popular songs from the past and enjoyed singing and dancing along. These songs helped to bring back memories from the past and raised many smiles! Followed by cheese and wine afternoon. It was a wonderful day spent sharing love and positivity around the home.
Chinese New Year
The Wingfield celebrated the Chinese new year. 2022 is the year of the tiger and according to Chinese tradition celebrations can last up to 16 days; but only the first seven days are considered a public holiday. The residents were presented with a delightful menu of Chinese foods for them to enjoy. It was great to see them happy and excited for the celebrations.
Music Therapy with Julie
An afternoon full of interaction and sing-a-long with Julie. After the session we were able to see a great improvement in our residents' cognitive functions, mood and well-being. Everyone enjoyed using different musical instruments as well.
Art Class with Creative Mojo
It was our pleasure to welcome back Karen from Creative Mojo. Karen provided fun, rewarding and enjoyable art workshops for everyone. Everyone shown their artistic side and Karen gave them opportunity to explore their creative ideas.
Simon Watts WILD Presentations
Residents at The Wingfield Care Home had the privilege to watch the documentary film of Simon Watts. Simon is a life-long naturalist who is passionate about exposing the daily drama of natural world. He provided a virtual experience onto giant screens and everyone truly enjoyed the film.
Out and About
A massive thank you to all staff who joined me in our mini bus trip to White Row Farm and Palmers Garden Centre recently. We all had a great time and enjoyed the outstanding service they’ve offer, including their lovely cakes and hot drinks too!
