Activities at The Wingfield Care Home

Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

It was special for one of the residents in particular who used to play in Salvation Army band who celebrated his birthday on the same day of the visit. The residents thoroughly enjoyed singing a long on the run up to Christmas and make it extra special for our residents.

Dermot from Kelly’s Donkey is a therapy donkey that give smiles in our resident’s faces. He walked around the whole communal area and visited residents in their room. Dermot brought the Christmas spirit at the Wingfield .

Trip to the garden centre

We’ve enjoyed our afternoon visiting the White Hall Garden Centre in Lacock. Our residents enjoyed looking at the variety of plants and Christmas decorations. After a stroll around we’ve made our way to the tea room to relax over hot drinks and slice of cake.
