Activities at Fountains Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

McMillan's World's Biggest Coffee Morning

Fountains held an in-house coffee morning and cake sale in support of McMillan.

Our residents and staff enjoyed sampling all the delicious cakes and cookies that had been baked and we are all extremely pleased, that in total, we raised £105!

Memory Walk

Residents at Fountains Care Home took part in a memory walk of their own around the gardens.

As they walked the grounds they saw their own memories strategically placed as they walked by.

It was a bracing and windy walk that also turned into a wonderful reminisce session.

It was lovely for our residents to hear the stories behind each photograph and to take a walk down Memory Lane together.

National Fitness Day 2020

Fountains teamed up virtually with “Inclusive Sporting Academy” who are a group that provide a wide range of inclusive sporting activities tailored to the needs of the participants.

No better day to start but on National Fitness Day and our residents loved it! Andy the instructor is really good fun and engaged our residents with ease. It didn’t take long before the armchair exercises were in full swing with full participation!

We will be adding this to our weekly schedule from now on.

Huge thanks to Andy and his team.

Fresh Flowers delivered

Marks & Spencer in Solihull surprised our residents with a wonderful donation of fresh flowers.

The kind gesture left our residents and staff team hugely touched and it meant that all our residents had fresh flowers in their rooms to enjoy.

Thank you Marks and Spencer!

Postcards of Kindness

Fountains Care Home signed up to receive postcards from wonderful members of the community who agree to send postcards to care home residents.

It really is a special scheme and one that is already bringing lots of joy to our residents, as well as being great conversation starters. Our postcards have so far been received from Devon through to New Orleans and they are all so unique.

Some of the postcard senders have shared their address so our residents are busy penning replies.

For more information about this scheme visit www.facebook.com/groups/postcardsofkindness/
