Activities at Newton House Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Christmas Party Time at Newton House

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a good party – and here at Newton we had many!

Residents had a fabulously festive December and thoroughly enjoyed their communities Christmas parties, as well as surprise visits from the man in red himself and live musical entertainment.

Interactive Table Fun

Our new tablet is proving very popular at Newton House as residents are utilising it a number of different ways; watching musicals, films, playing games and joining in with many live events via the Oomph On Demand platform.

,

Flower Arranging

We had a wonderful afternoon on all communities recently as we had spent it flower arranging.

Residents really enjoyed getting crafty with their beautiful creations and were delighted with the finished results!

Trip out to Belton Garden Centre

What better way to start the day than a fabulous trip out on the minibus, visiting Belton Garden Centre.

Residents were amazed at the beautiful Christmas decorations, aquarium and gifts, but mainly the sight of the stunning reindeers.

One of the residents said: “I’ve never seen them in real life and oh my they are quite something aren’t they”

We then relaxed and reminisced in the nice and homely restaurant, where residents enjoyed a nice hot coffee and biscuits.

Another fabulous trip out to add to to our magical memories.

Cinema Room at Newton House

We now have our very own cinema room – which was chosen as the overall winner in the Barchester cinema room competition. All residents are delighted and enjoy watching various films.

Bus Trip to St Wulfram's Church

The residents have enjoyed a bus trip out to St Wulfram's Church to see the fallen Angels display.

Mrs N really wanted to visit the church after she had seen an article in the Grantham Journal, and she wasn’t disappointed!

The Angels were absolutely incredible and just beautifully displayed.

The residents also lit a candle to remember their loved ones and said a prayer. It was a very heartwarming and sentimental trip.

As always it was also full of laughter and joy. Mrs N spoke about St Micheal, we were asking her questions about him and asked who St Micheal was….

Resident Mike quickly said “ it’s me on a good day”.
