Activities at Hampton Grove Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Congratulations 'Debs' - Community Hero Award

We are so proud and pleased to advise that one of the Hampton Grove care home family; Activities Assistant, Deborah (Debs) Andrews is a winner!

In 2020 the Longhurst Group announced the launch of a new awards scheme which was designed to reward customers who help out in their communities. Following its success the Community Investment Team worked on the brand new ‘Community Heroes scheme’ this year.

Nominations were received by Group colleagues for things they’d done in their communities throughout the pandemic, including baking for neighbours, checking on vulnerable and isolated residents and arranging socially distanced gatherings to boost morale.

The Community Investment Team and everyone at Longhurst Group thank you: “In recognition of the heartfelt dedication, commitment and compassion you have shown to those in your community during such a challenging and unprecedented time.”

Your colleagues and the residents of Hampton Grove totally agree, you’re one in a million; well done 'Debs'... congratulations on this well-deserved accolade.

Halloween Party Preparations

For our Halloween party tomorrow afternoon, the residents have been finishing off making the last of the decorations. It's been lots of fun for all of us making these spooky and autumnal displays.

Peterborough Vs Queen Park Rangers

We were extremely fortunate to have Peterborough United donate football tickets to us for the game last Saturday. The residents couldn't keep their eyes off the POSH vs Queens Park Ranger's match. It was a brilliant afternoon out for everyone and to top it off Peterborough won 2-1 !

Halloween Party Preparation

It's full steam ahead for Halloween here at Hampton Grove. The residents have been making all sorts of spooky decorations for our upcoming Halloween party. Last week they got creative and used conkers and pipe cleaners to make these mini creepy crawlers. These fun and colourful spiders are a great addition and were lots of fun to make!

'Something Else' Entertains

There’s really nothing better than an afternoon boogie! We were absolutely delighted by the entertainment provided by 'Something Else' last Wednesday. The dynamic duo performed lots of swinging 60s songs that had our residents and staff up singing and dancing the whole time.

It was definitely and afternoon of fun for all at Hampton Grove; even some for the kitchen and reception team came in for a dance!
